Bronica ETRS generation Safari Edition camera body

ETRS Safari special edition

Sometimes also referred to as “SF”, this edition was olive-green colored, and included a name plate with the text “Zenza Bronica ETRS SF Limited”. Released in 1982, these were the very first ETRS Mk-II cameras produced by Bronica, and came packaged in standard ETRS boxes with a green “SF” sticker.

The camera body was accompanied by a range of color-coordinated accessories, including:

  • Film Back ETRS 120
  • Waist Level Finder-E
  • AE-II Finder-E
  • Speed Grip-E
  • Professional Lens Hood-E
  • Zenzanon EII 75mm f2.5 lens
  • Zenza Bronica Safari hardcase

The complete kit sold for $2,920 in the USA1.

Serial numbers for camera bodies started at 7100 000. For the film back, serial numbers started at 8100 000. Unlike the later ETRSi W.H. Fox Talbot 150th Anniversary special edition, there did not appear to be any attempt to match the bodies with the film backs, as in every example of this camera I have seen, the last three digits of the body serial number differ from the last three digits of the film back serial number.
